Crypto capital flows: How to use data tools to identify real transaction trends?
“2905 BTC transferred from unknown addressBinance"
“15,000 ETH withdrawn from Coinbase to an unknown address”
We often receive such transaction reminders, but what is behind them?walletOr buy/sell?
If you don't solve the problem of "who does the unknown address belong to", you will always be misled by superficial information. Reading this article may help you save $10,000 tuition fees.
1/ Data Tools
I will mention the following tools. They each have their own specialties for marking address types. You can choose one based on your needs: Arkham, Nansen, Mest, Etherscan.
2/ Address Classification
We simply divide the addresses into two categories: institutional and individual investors, and break them down one by one.
The address of the organization containsexchange / Market makers / VC / project parties, etc., usually have large amounts of funds. The deposit and withdrawal operations of such addresses often cause price fluctuations, such as Binance / DWF Labs / a16z / Uniswap Foundation, etc.
3/ Identify the address of the institution
When you find a transaction with an extremely large amount, you can use Arkham and Nansen queries to confirm whether the address belongs to any organization.
Actual tests show that the labels of these two platforms are more complete and the usage is also very simple: just copy the address and press Enter to query. If there are labels, it will be displayed automatically. If not, only the address will be displayed.
4/ Actual Cases
for exampleThis transfer, showing that 15,000 ETH have been deposited into the Gate.
Paste the sender address 0x85F…0C35c into Arkham, and found that it was the internal address of Gate, which is justexchangeIt is just an address integration, not a signal of ETH crash, so as to avoid blind selling and stop loss behavior.
5/ Mark your personal address
Compared with institutional addresses, individual investors are more difficult to locate. We further split these addresses into:
1. Celebrities in the cryptocurrency circle, such as Vitalik / Justin Sun / Maji, etc.;
2. Smart money address;
Cryptocurrency celebrities are relatively easy to identify due to various factors such as associated addresses or off-chain information. You can also use Arkham and Nansen to query. For example, Justin Sun already has 19 addresses included.
6/ Mark Smart Money Address
To judge whether an investor is smart money, each person has different criteria, and usually more auxiliary information is needed, such as: previous performance, whether the investor has been marked as smart money, etc.
You can use Mest to get this information, a lot ofCommunityUsers will createwalletLists, such as airdrop hunters, UNIBOT early holders, etc. - the more times an address is included, the more attention it gets.
7/ Actual Cases
$UNIBOT At the beginning of the launch, you found that the address 0x461…b972c bought a large amount ofToken -- Is it worth following up further? There is no more information available using Arkham at this point.
Try using Mest query, and found that this address was also included in three other lists. It had previously made huge profits from trading MEME and was an early holder of PEPE, so it was decided to add it to the monitoring list.
8/ Mark Smart Money Address
When sharing in news media or WeChat groups, people always include Etherscan transaction links. How can we improve the efficiency of identifying addresses and understand transaction status in the first place?
You can use the "Manual Marking" function to mark the information you collect at ordinary times.:
1. Open the address details page;
2. Click "PRIVATE NAME TAGS" in "More Info";
3. Add address notes, such as players with high win rates;
9/ Manual marking function
Please note that to manually mark addresses, you need to log in to Etherscan first. After that, all the addresses you marked can be seen in "Account > PRIVATE NAME TAGS in the upper right corner".
10/ Actual Cases
For example, I received surveillance footage two days ago.: BIGTIME project team transferred 2.5 million tokensToken, but not sure what the receiving address is.
So I opened Etherscan and found the manual mark "FBG Capital" that I had made before. I was convinced that it was most likely that the project party shipped the goods through the asset management platform and tweeted it out at the first time.
