Polymer Labs Officially released Polymer Hub, a real-time interoperability protocol for connecting all Ethereum Rollups. By transmitting messages, states, and logs through IBC primitives (similar to TCP/IP in Web2), Polymer Hub is able to verify and store header information of all connected Rollups, allowing applications to verify arbitrary states across Rollups with significantly reduced overhead.
In the past, Rollup/L2 Ecosystems are usually only connected within their own closed environments; with Polymer, Rollups can now communicate across ecosystems and coordinate at the speed of generating blocks. The protocol provides significant improvements in latency, bandwidth, and cost of cross-chain communication compared to existing solutions.
